TIME OUT FOR THE BURNT OUT: REDISCOVERING YOUR CREATIVITY- Artist Development Residency

Are you a low-income theatre creative?

Do you have limited access to green spaces?

Are you at a turning point in your career?

Have you hit a wall with a creative project?

Are you at risk of falling out of love with your art or your sector?

PlayWell would like to offer you a week out of time to reflect and reconnect with your creativity or your career.

This free residency, from PlayWell Productions, will support a theatre artist by providing a space for quiet, self-guided creative time in peaceful and beautiful rural surroundings. It includes the following offers:

>Calm and restful surroundings

>Time in nature

>Permission to dabble in low-pressure artistic play

>£150 travel expenses

>Bookable 1-2-1 time with host, producer Steph Weller to chat through your thoughts, bounce ideas off, or to simply chat with someone who's been there and will listen. Topics could include:

  • Producers’ assessment of a script - what a producer might ask / look for (not a dramaturgy session!)

  • Turning your idea into a creative reality

  • Funding guidance

  • Who is your audience and why should they care?

  • Accessibility - onstage and off

This is not a commission, it's not to find a show to produce, and it's not a counselling retreat - it's simply an opportunity to take a pause and consider your next steps, be they creative or career-related.

Before falling out of love with a career or an industry you’ve spent your life hoping to thrive in, take some time out to rediscover the spark.
